About
John Daniel Maher
was born in 1972 and grew up in Arlington, Massachusetts.
He is a musician, and attended the University Of Massachusetts
at Lowell, where he studied Music Business. He has worked
in radio, has taught music at a Catholic elementary and middle
school, and was the music director at St. Ann's church in
Somerville, Massachusetts, from 2000 to 2004. He left in the
fall of 2004 to pursue other career opportunities so that
he could have more time on holidays and weekends to spend
with his growing family. He currently works on the North Shore
of Massachusetts at a web design and search engine marketing
company. John still plays music at a 6pm Sunday evening Mass
at a local Catholic church, and continues to sing and play
piano, sax, and guitar.
Ellen Elizabeth
Maher was born Ellen Elizabeth Salah, in 1971. She grew up
in Melrose and Gloucester, MA, and moved to Ipswich in 1980.
She attended Holy Cross, in Worcester, MA, and spent nine
years working at the O'Neil Library at Boston College. She
married John in 2001, and left BC to stay at home with their
son, Ian, in 2004.
Ian Patrick Maher
was born in the spring of 2003. He was nine weeks premature,
due to Ellen developing pre-ecclampsia, and was 2 pounds,
15 1/4 ounces at birth. After spending almost seven weeks
in the hospital (Beth Israel in Boston, followed by Winchester
Hospital), he finally came home. He loves trains, is very
creative, and loves making music with his father (he enjoys
playing his harmonica and recorder). John also thinks he shows
promise with his plastic golf clubs.
Anna Charlotte
Maher was born in the early spring of 2005. She is a very
happy baby, and is becoming more mobil by the day. She has
recently started walking, and her new-found mobility and higher
perspective is allowing her to explore her surroundings more,
so she is walking all over the house and finding new things
to get into.
